A Trip Down Memory Lane

Angelo is trying to piece together a list of the topics we've covered over the years. I was able to come up with the following from my notes:

  • 2003: I think this was my first year and we did Jung on Evil. Can anyone confirm?
  • 2004: Jung and Mythology
  • 2005: Jung and the New Physics (Synchronicity)
  • 2006: Active Imagination (Was it that long ago?)
  • 2007: Jung and Alchemy
  • 2008: The Moral Question

Please use the Comments link to add previous years or comment on this list. Thanks!

P.S. Mollie added the following:

  • 1998 or 1999: Shadow and Dreams
  • 2000: Animus and Anima
  • 2001: Gender Consciousness
  • 2002: Working with the Inferior Function
  • 2003: Confirmed Jung on Evil

I don't know what year these started - anyone have other topics to add?

Spoto Sustenance 2009

Hi Everyone,

I’m looking forward to seeing you in a little more than a week. As those of us who have participated before in the seminar know, Jungian psychology is hard work! We need snacks to keep us going! Not only that, but sharing food and wine adds to the conviviality experienced over the weekend. So in my role as Snack Coordinator, it’s time to start planning the shopping list. Please let me know:

  • Whether you plan to drink wine (or beer), so I have an idea of how much to buy/bring.
  • Any dietary restraints you have: I know one person is lactose intolerant and another cannot eat cow’s milk cheeses, only sheep and goat.

Reply either by clicking the comments link at the end of this blog entry, or by replying to my email. The past few years, I’ve purchased a case of wine with 9 bottles of red and three of white. The wine shop helped me pick out Wines Around the World, which was fun. For expenses, the food has been reimbursed from the general kitty. For the wine, we totaled the dollar value of how much was drunk and divided it by the number of people drinking; then each person reimbursed me that amount. Loretta, please confirm we have money in the kitty for food and let me know what my budget is. Here’s the shopping list I went off of last year, although it also included an impulse buy or two:

  • Apples – 6 pounds Macoun (my favorite)
  • Grapes – 1 bunch red seedless
  • Dried apricots – 1 container
  • Veggies and dip
  • Cheese – 3 cheeses, including cheddar, 1 goat cheese
  • Crackers for cheese (include whole grain, sesame-flavored Asian Rice Crackers
  • Nuts: walnuts (Ray); 1 big container (qt.-sized) mixed nuts and/or trail mix
  • 1 bag hard pretzels
  • 1 package pita bread
  • 1 pint hummus tahini
  • 2 big bags chips (corn and blue corn)
  • 1 pints salsa
  • Cookies – two tubs of mini cookies
  • Yogurt: plain coffee, lemon, and cherry
  • ½ & ½ (for coffee)
  • Caffeine-free diet Coke (Angelo’s request) and with caffeine (Cindy)
  • 3 2-liter bottles of seltzer
  • Cider
  • Cranberry juice

Please let me know if you have any suggestions for this list.
