Business Administration Stuff

Here's a follow up item from our business meeting. I thought we might want to use the blog as a central place to have the conversation.

Issues for Discussion:
  • Discount: Should the person that manages the finances, books the Mercy Center, handles registrations, makes room assignments, etc. and communciates this all to the rest of us receive a discount? If so, how much of a discount? On what? There seemed to be consensus that a discount would be in order, although no vote was taken. Angelo proposed 50% discount. Loretta suggested limiting this discount to the conference fee (vs. the Mercy Center fee, which would be a "pass through.") Barbara suggested making the fee amount contingent on the number of seminar participants.
  • Passing the Torch: If someone is ready to take over the duties, Loretta is ready to pass that torch. Both Barbara and Laura have expressed a willingness.
  • Divide and Conquer: In the past, Loretta's responsibilities were divided by at least two people. Do we want to examine doing that again? If so, how should the duties be divided? How would any discounts be shared?
  • Vacant Slots: In the past we've had a waiting list of people interested in attending the seminar. However, over the past few years, that's not been the case and we've been scrambling to find people at the last minute. Participants know that if they have to cancel, it's ultimately their responsibility to find their replacement, but Loretta said the group's been great at helping with this. Mollie offered to manage a list and work with people who have to cancel.

Did I miss anything? Use the Comments link to respond, or if it's lengthy on one of the above topics, make a post!

A Trip Down Memory Lane

Angelo is trying to piece together a list of the topics we've covered over the years. I was able to come up with the following from my notes:

  • 2003: I think this was my first year and we did Jung on Evil. Can anyone confirm?
  • 2004: Jung and Mythology
  • 2005: Jung and the New Physics (Synchronicity)
  • 2006: Active Imagination (Was it that long ago?)
  • 2007: Jung and Alchemy
  • 2008: The Moral Question

Please use the Comments link to add previous years or comment on this list. Thanks!

P.S. Mollie added the following:

  • 1998 or 1999: Shadow and Dreams
  • 2000: Animus and Anima
  • 2001: Gender Consciousness
  • 2002: Working with the Inferior Function
  • 2003: Confirmed Jung on Evil

I don't know what year these started - anyone have other topics to add?
